Up The Tempo are a compact band with a big sound. Playing hits spanning six decades, the piano led three-piece perform fresh renditions of all your favourite songs. As seasoned professional musicians, the guys know how to keep your dance floor full all night long, and give your guests a party experience to remember. With a smart and modern look, high quality sound and lighting systems, large and varied repertoire, DJ and karaoke options, Up The Tempo are sure to enhance your big event like no other band!

Essential Services

Our standard service includes all the essentials you'll need for an amazing party. It's designed to minimise costs by including everything you'll need for a 'normal' size wedding or party, it includes:

  • 2 x 1 Hour OR 3 x 40 Minute sets of live music to loosen your guests up and get them dancing!
  • High quality sound and lighting systems to accommodate our professional performance
  • Background music before, between and after live sets
  • Use of our PA system during the time we are at your event (speeches, announcements etc.)
  • Large and varied repertoire to cater to all ages and tastes

 

Additional Options

We also offer upgradable options for extra special events:

  • Your Song - Tell us what you want to hear if we don’t already play it
  • Acoustic Packages – Various options of ‘Live Lounge’ style sets are a great way to add a relaxed feeling to your drinks reception or dinner
  • Karaoke Superstar - Sing with the band at your big event
  • DJ Service - A Band member DJ’s from our extensive and eclectic Music Library with something for everyone including the latest hits. Requests are encouraged!

What We'll Do At Your Event


Arrival, set up and soundcheck

We will arrive in plenty of time to introduce ourselves and set up before your evening event. We work very closely with each event organiser to ensure that everything runs smoothly and your big day is as stress-free as possible. Being professional performers and veterans of many formal occasions, we know how important time keeping is, and are able to set up quickly, quietly and efficiently. We’ll run a short soundcheck to ensure that our sound system and instruments are in tip top shape for your party, and make sure our lighting is ready to dazzle!


After set up & soundcheck

After dressing the stage and doing a quick sound-check, we will head off to our dressing room (arranged in advance of the day) to suit up in our stage attire so we look the part for the show. Our PA and lighting systems will be in place to use for speeches, announcements and to accommodate the DJ or background music to get your party warmed up!


1st live set & break

As standard we perform two hours worth of live music for your evening's entertainment. This is usually in the format of 2 x 1 hour sets OR 3 x 40 minute sets. However, the evening’s schedule is completely up to you, and with a little notice we are able to tailor our sets to accommodate your plans. We don’t want to clash with the food being served either, as this may restrict people’s capacity to dance! Just let us know what time any food will be out and we’ll work around this.


2nd live set & end of the night

Our second (or third, depending on what package and format you choose) set will be followed by either background music or a DJ set from one of the band (again, depending upon the package you have chosen) to finish off the night while the rest of us discreetly pack away. We usually finish everything by midnight, but extensions to this are available if arranged in advance.
